West Charleston Kiwanis Completes Another Successful Shopping Spree - 12/11/2017

The West Charleston Club provided clothing for deserving children from the West Side of Charleston, for the 52nd strraight year.   Fourty-five children picked by their schools recieved multiple outfits for school and Sunday, with shoppers helping the kids make good choices for their clothers.  Those helping the West Charleston Kiwanis Club included the four Key Clubs sponsered by West Charleston, Captiol HS, GW HS, Hurricane HS, and Nitro HS,.  These volunteers, along with freinds of the Kiwanis, took each child to K-Mart for a few hours of shopping.

West Charleston Club Sponsers 5 Student Service Clubs - 09/21/2017

During President Ellen Bullock term the West Charleston Kiwanis Club has achieved a record number of clubs where students learn how to develop leadership and serivice.   These are the Key Clubs of Capitol, Nitro, George Washington in Kanawha County and Hurricane High from Putnam County.   These four clubs along with a K-Kids club at Edgewood Elemnetry in Charleston provide students opputunity to practice and learn how to lead and provide service in their communities.

The West Charleston Kiwanis Club at its annual members meeting held in June elected its officers for the 2016-17 year.   They are:

CRP Ltd Wins 2017 Kiwanis Corporate Regatta - 06/26/2017

CRP, Ltd, wins over a strong navy of 18 yatchs to catch first place in the 2017 Kiwanis Corp Regatta.  Winner of the most artistic yatch went to Gaddy Engineering  for their self decorated yatch.  A list of all the races and their winners can be found here.


KIWANIS CLUB OF WEST CHARLESTON MOURNS THE LOSS OF ITS FELLOW KIWANIAN, OBI HENDERSON - 03/21/2017

Obi Henderson, 31 who passed away yesterday in an auto accident in Charleston WV,  was a perfect example of the Kiwanis spirit. He lived by example the Kiwanis Dream, “that one day all children will wake up in communities that believe in them, nurture them, and provide the support they need to thrive.” Obi’s sole focus in life to was to serve his community and the children in that community.

Kin Ship Goods, Wins 2016 Kiwanis Corporate Regatta - 06/20/2016

KIn Ship Goods, wins over a strong navy of 17 yatchs to catch first place in the 2016 Kiwanis Corp Regatta.  Winner of the most artistic yatch went to Dingess-Rum Properties for their self decorated yatch.  A list of all the races and their winners can be found here.


Mary Snow Elementry Raises $1500 for Kiwanis Eliminate - 06/01/2016

At a award ceremony the West Charleston Kiwanis awarded the Kiwanis Foundation Centennial Award to the students of Mary Snow Elementary School on Charleston's West Side.  This contribution the students made buying and reading books, contributed $1500 dollars to the Kiwanis Foundation Eliminate Project to eliminate neonatal tetnanus around the world.


President Elect Ellen Bullock Receives Recognition for Work with Kids - 06/01/2016

President Elect Ellen Bullock, recieved a dozen roses and a book from the kids and staff at Mary Snow Elementry School for the work she does to improve reading at the school.  At the surpise announcement, and award cermony where Ms. Bullock was awarding BUG and the Centenial Award the school presented the gifts, for "Her and Kiwanis Outstanding Support of the Kids of the Community"
